The framework

Behavior driver
A behavior driver is one of four tendencies every Introgauge instrument scores from 0 to 10, as the mean of its statements: Action, Process, Strategy and People. Everyone, and every team, has a mix of the four. None of them is good on its own; the mix is what is measured.
Action
Action is the behavior driver for deciding, acting and adapting. It is one of the two strongest drivers in the Trailblazer, the Catalyst and the Operator.
Process
Process is the behavior driver for structure, consistency and information that reaches people. It is one of the two strongest drivers in the Architect, the Operator, the Connector and the Guardian.
Strategy
Strategy is the behavior driver for direction, kept current. It is one of the two strongest drivers in the Trailblazer, the Architect and the Strategist, and the only leading driver in the Visionary.
People
People is the behavior driver for cooperation, trust and shared values. It is one of the two strongest drivers in the Catalyst, the Strategist, the Connector and the Guardian.
Archetype
An archetype is the name for the shape of a profile, set by its two strongest drivers or by one driver that clearly leads. The same eight names describe a person, an organization and a board. An archetype is a shape, not a grade, and no archetype is preferred.

The eight archetypes

The Trailblazer
The Trailblazer is the archetype whose two strongest drivers are Action and Strategy. Its tagline is "Vision meets execution."
The Architect
The Architect is the archetype whose two strongest drivers are Strategy and Process. Its tagline is "Strategy meets structure."
The Catalyst
The Catalyst is the archetype whose two strongest drivers are Action and People. Its tagline is "Action meets connection."
The Strategist
The Strategist is the archetype whose two strongest drivers are Strategy and People. Its tagline is "Vision meets influence."
The Operator
The Operator is the archetype whose two strongest drivers are Action and Process. Its tagline is "Execution meets reliability."
The Connector
The Connector is the archetype whose two strongest drivers are People and Process. Its tagline is "Relationships meet process." When Action also trails far behind, the profile is a Guardian instead.
The Visionary
The Visionary is the archetype in which Strategy leads every other driver by a clear margin, whatever the second driver is. The margin is two points on CareerIQ, OrgIQ Lite and BoardIQ Lite, and one and a half points on the longer instruments. Its tagline is "Ideas meet imagination."
The Guardian
The Guardian is the archetype in which People and Process are the two strongest drivers and Action is the weakest, trailing the second driver by the same margin the Visionary uses. Its tagline is "Care meets consistency."

Reading a result

Lone peak
A lone peak is a profile whose strongest driver leads the second by at least the lone-peak margin: two points on the short instruments (CareerIQ and the two Lite checks), one and a half on the longer ones. A lone peak in Strategy makes a Visionary; the same margin, measured between the second driver and Action, separates the Guardian from the Connector.
Close second
A close second is the archetype a result would have if two neighboring drivers among its top three swapped places, shown when they sit less than a quarter of a point apart. The result names both, for example "The Operator, close to the Architect", instead of claiming certainty it does not have.
Harmonization Index
The Harmonization Index is one number from 0 to 100 that sums up how a profile's four drivers sit against what the instrument measures them by. For a person it reads balance; for an organization, team or board it reads attainment against a target. Each index comes with a band that says what the number means.
Balance and attainment
Balance and attainment are the two ways a Harmonization Index is computed. Balance measures how far the four drivers sit from the instrument's ideal profile in either direction (CareerIQ, EmployeeIQ, TalentFlow). Attainment measures only how far each driver falls short of a target of 8.0, with no penalty for exceeding it (OrgIQ, BoardIQ, OrgIQ Lite, BoardIQ Lite, OrgIQ Snapshot); with every driver at 5 it reads 62.5, and with every driver at 9 it reads 100.
Target
The target is the score each driver is measured against on an attainment index: 8.0 on every driver for OrgIQ, BoardIQ and their short forms. Scores above it count the same as scores at it.
Snapshot
A snapshot is one completed result at one point in time. Each result taken in a cycle is kept as a snapshot, so later cycles can be compared with it and changes over time can be shown.
Cycle
A cycle is one run of an assessment for a group, with a start date, an end date and automatic reminders. Running the same assessment again in a new cycle shows what moved between the two.
A label you can argue with
"A label you can argue with" is how Introgauge describes a result: an archetype and an index in plain language that the person can read, question and disagree with. It is not a hiring gate and not a black box.

Team features

Team Simulator
The Team Simulator is a planning view that recomputes a team's driver mix and Harmonization Index when you take a person out or add a hypothetical profile. It shows how the team's work would be covered; it is not used to choose people. It is part of the paid plans.
Behavior Change
Behavior Change is a view that shows what moved on each driver and on the Harmonization Index between a person's first and most recent completed assessment, and for the team as a whole. A move smaller than 0.3 points counts as stable. It is part of the paid plans.

Instruments

CareerIQ
CareerIQ is Introgauge's free individual assessment: twenty statements, about five minutes, no signup. It returns an archetype, four driver scores, the careers that fit the mix, a compare link and a share card. It is the free version of EmployeeIQ.
OrgIQ Lite
OrgIQ Lite is the free organization check: sixteen statements, about three minutes, answered by one leader, with no signup. It returns the organization's archetype, its four drivers against the 8.0 target and its Harmonization Index. Its statements are a word-for-word subset of OrgIQ.
BoardIQ Lite
BoardIQ Lite is the free board check: sixteen statements, about three minutes, answered by one director, with no signup. It returns the board's archetype, its four drivers against the 8.0 target and its Harmonization Index.
EmployeeIQ
EmployeeIQ is the full individual assessment on the paid plans: 72 statements across eight areas, scored on the four behavior drivers, with an archetype and a balance index. On a Team plan everyone on the team takes it, and the results fill the team map.
OrgIQ
OrgIQ is the full organizational health assessment: 64 statements across eight areas and the four behavior drivers, plus a short respondent profile, answered by everyone in the organization. It is run in cycles and scored by attainment against the 8.0 target.
BoardIQ
BoardIQ is the full board assessment: 64 statements across eight areas of how a board works and the four behavior drivers, plus a short board-member profile, answered by every director. Profile answers are never shown per person.
OrgIQ Snapshot
OrgIQ Snapshot is the sixteen OrgIQ Lite statements run as a cycle for everyone in an organization, not one leader. Its results feed the same team views as any cycle and are scored by attainment against 8.0. It is not yet in the general catalog.

Partner
A partner is an organization that sells Introgauge assessments to its own clients, with its own brand shown beside Introgauge's. A partner's admins see the full named results of the people who bought from them, as set out on What your manager sees.
